Photographs on this site are placeholders drawn from public-domain and openly licensed archives, with one exception: the winter photograph of the flooded alder stand that opens the land chapter is a real photograph of the parcel, taken in December 2023. The rest are captioned as illustrations, not as records, and are meant to be replaced by photographs of the land itself.

Set in Strike Caslon — Libre Caslon Display with the tittle and full stop drawn as lozenges and the capital O struck through — with Libre Caslon Text for reading. Libre Caslon is a revival of the types William Caslon cut in London in the 1720s. The site is set as a book is set: one measure, one leading, rules that mean something.
